WHO believes virus was already circulating in Wuhan in December
The coronavirus pandemic is on the verge of 109 million infections worldwide, according to data collected by Johns Hopkins University, one of the main monitoring bodies for covid-19. The center also posts 2.39 million deaths worldwide and more than 61 million people recovered.
The United States continues to appear as the country most affected in total figures, with more than 27.63 million infections and almost 485,000 dead, followed by India, with 10.9 million and 155,700 deaths; and Brazil, with almost 9.83 million accumulated positives and 239,000 deaths, respectively.
In Spain, the pandemic maintains high levels of mortality – the latest data is that of the 530 deaths in 24 hours last Friday – but its contagion capacity continues to decrease and the accumulated incidence in fourteen days per 100,000 inhabitants drops to 496.01, a figure that has not been collected since January 15.

11:20 – The Municipal Police of Madrid has intervened, during this weekend, in a total of 418 illegal parties held in homes and entertainment venues for breaches of anti-Covid regulations (80 on Friday, 170 on Saturday and 168 on Sunday).
At some of these parties there was a number of people higher than allowed and no masks were used or other security measures, sources from the City Council's Security and Emergencies Area led by Inmaculada Sanz have informed Europa Press.

11:16 – GALICIA | The decline of the third wave of covid-19 remains firm in Galicia, with another day with more than a thousand registrations (1,055) and almost 700 fewer active cases (693), up to 13,052, figures similar to those of four weeks ago (January 18), although the healthcare pressure rebounds slightly according to the latest data and continues to stagnate.
According to the Galician Health Service, until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday there were in the ICUs of the Galician hospitals 224 people, two more than the previous day, while there were 792 people in the plant, after 17 new admissions; so the total number once again exceeds the thousand entered (1,016).

10:26 – ARAGON | The Government of Aragon has notified 100 new cases of covid and one deceased for this cause in the autonomous community this Sunday, according to the provisional data collected on its website. Likewise, there have been 290 registrations.
By provinces, in Saragossa, 70 infections have been reported, the only deceased of the day and 163 recovered; in Huesca, four positive and 17 discharges; and in Teruel 25 infections and 107 people recovered.

10:22 – Quarantine begins in hotels for travelers from high-risk countries in the United Kingdom. British and Irish citizens and residents of the United Kingdom who enter England from this Monday from countries with high risk of covid-19, including Portugal and Brazil, must quarantine in hotels.
