ISDIN, Heliocare and Avene, the market leaders in pharmacy photoprotectors

ISDIN, Cantabria Labs (Heliocare) and Avene they lead, until greater, the market of the fotoprotectores that sell exclusively in pharmacies, according to data of the consultant IMS-IQVIA collected by Servimedia.

The turnover of these dermocosmetic products has increased in the accumulated until May in Spain by 16.5%, to reach 80.3 million euros.

ISDIN, according to these sources, is the company with the largest market share until the end of May, with 38.6%, and total sales of 31 million euros, with a growth of 27.7% over the same period of the previous year .

Cantabria Labs (Heliocare), with a 15.3% market share, reached sales at the end of May of 12.3 million euros, with a growth of 26.8% and Avene, with 13.3% market share, made sales worth 10.7 million euros.

In the fifth month of 2019, according to data from IMS-IQVIA, ISDIN also led the market of photo-protection in pharmacy sales with sales of 12.1 million euros, followed by Avene, with 4.7 million and Cantabria Labs, with 4.3 million euros. Also, according to IMS-IQVIA data, the five best-selling sun protection products on the market in May were ISDIN products.

The data of the last twelve months show that the market of photoprotectors sold exclusively in pharmacy moves 213 million euros, with a growth of 13.2% in that period. ISDIN, with 83 million euros of sales, leads the market and grows 22.8% over the same period of the previous year.

In the month of May, according to the IMS-IQVIA data, The five best-selling sunscreens on the market are from ISDIN. At the end of that month, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) published a comparative report of 17 photoprotective creams, in which the product ISDIN Ped Transparent Spray Wet was classified as of poor quality. According to the data of the aforementioned consultancy, the sales of this product in May were 395,000 euros and it was the seventeenth best seller of the market, with a growth of 38.8% over the previous year.
