Washing a natural hair wig is part of the hygiene of the wearer. These alternatives allow you to change your look just by trying different styles of hairpieces, without resorting to dyes, straightening or scissors. Pour cold water into a container and add some clarifying shampoo. Upside down, put the wig in the bowl, without rubbing, for 5 minutes.


Scoop out the foam by letting cold water run from the base to the tips. When there are no more traces of the shampoo, take a towel and dry carefully. The idea is that the toupee remains moist, but not soaking wet.


The conditioner also has to be spot on for wigs. From below, spread a little of the product until it covers the piece without touching the base. Finger comb through strands. Wait 5 minutes or the time indicated in the cosmetic instructions. Again, wet with cold water, until there is no more conditioner.


Just as if it were real hair, apply a few drops of moisturizing oil; it can be made of argan, coconut or cotton.


You finish the wash by first drying with a towel, then airing for a while, and finally blow-drying if you wish. So that it does not lose its shape, it is key not to brush or use the dryer if it has not yet received natural air.

Recommendations to extend the life of a natural hair wig

Although by washing a natural hair wig you reduce its life time, the usual recommendation is grooming every 2 weeks.
